Carmel By the Sea Spring Wedding at Carmel Basilica and Bernaruds Lodge and Spa

I'm so stoked to share this beautiful wedding I recently photographed in Northern California. The wedding took place at the lovely Carmel Basilica church and the reception was held at the Bernardus Lodge and Spa. They also had their welcome party right on the beach in Carmel by the Sea! Everyone was asked to wear all white and it was such a lovely evening around the campfire eating pizza and telling stories about the Bride and Groom. Asako and Kiro met in medical school in Philadelphia at a med school mixer. After all of their hard work it was finally time to get married!

The day was filled with love and joy as the couple celebrated their union. It was an incredible and sacred ceremony to watch. The Carmel Basilica church was simply breathtaking, with its stunning architecture and spiritual atmosphere.

After the ceremony, we moved on to the Bernaruds Lodge and Spa for the reception. The venue was absolutely stunning, surrounded by lush vineyards. The couple had chosen to have an al fresco dinner, which created such a scenic dinner scape. I love outdoor dinners and long tables because of the natural light plus you get to see more people's emotions when you're sitting at longer tables instead of circle ones. What made this wedding even more interesting was the blend of Japanese and Egyptian traditions. It was a true representation of their cultures and love for each other. The BEST part of the entire evening was the dance party. Asako and Kiro had one of the best dance parties I've ever photographed! I loved the Egyptian dances, and seeing all of their friends really get down, lol!

As a photographer, my goal is always to capture timeless moments. I strive to capture the essence of people in their most natural and pure state. This wedding was no exception. From the emotional moments during the ceremony to the joyous celebrations during the reception, I aimed to document every detail in an editorial style.
